# RFI status

> What each RFI status means and what to do next

Every RFI carries a status showing where it is and whether anything is needed from you.

| Status            | Meaning                                                     | Next step                                           |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| Open              | The RFI has been raised and no response has been submitted. | Review the request and respond.                     |
| Response Required | Further information is needed before the RFI can be closed. | Answer the latest request in the submission thread. |
| Under Review      | Your response is being reviewed.                            | No action required.                                 |
| Closed            | The review is complete and the RFI is closed.               | No action required.                                 |

An RFI can move between **Response Required** and **Under Review** more than once before it is closed.
